Why to Choose PT First

We know we're biased but we truly believe that Physical Therapy is an amazing first course of action for a wide variety of symptoms and pain, including acute injuries and chronic conditions.

Here are 8 of the possible benefits of choosing PT with us first:

  1. Immediate pain/symptom relief - You can be seen immediately by a Physical Therapist before having a doctor’s referral. The first step in our 3 step treatment process (relieve) is calming down pain and symptoms as well as focusing on calming down the nervous system.

  2. Getting down to the root - (not just treating symptoms) We will find and address any movement patterns or alignment issues that are contributing to your pain/symptoms. This is part of the second step of our treatment process (rebuild). Getting down to the root helps tackle pain and symptoms at their source and prevent them from reoccurring.

  3. Improving mobility - The second part of our process (rebuild) also includes restoring your range of motion and improving your overall mobility and fitness. Once your pain/symptoms are calmed down, we want to get you off the treatment table and moving as quickly as possible. Restoring range of motion is vital in treating acute injuries. And, movement in general is also one of the most effective ways to treat chronic pain and regulate your nervous system.

  4. Whole body approach - Looking at the area of injury/pain AND also looking at other areas of your body and how their alignment and function relates to your pain/symptoms. For example, many of our migraine, headache, and TMJ patients find relief by relearning and practicing proper breathing mechanics.

  5. Reduced medication use - Bringing down your pain using manual therapy and movement instead of relying primarily on medication.  Many of our patients begin treatment with us because they want to be able to manage their pain without being dependent on medication.

  6. Avoiding surgery - Managing your symptoms and restoring your quality of life without surgery. The majority of our patients are able to successfully manage their pain or symptoms with our Physical Therapy treatment. This is part of what we find so exciting about PT, that it allows you to use your own body to heal and help prevent future pain and injury.

  7. Personalized treatment - Our visits are 60 minutes and always 1-on-1 with your Physical Therapist. Your care is based on YOU, where you are at each session, and what your goals are. Our ability to personalize your treatment is part of what makes the third step in our process (refine) possible.

  8. Collaborative care - We often collaborate with other providers (such as dentists, headache specialists, functional medicine doctors, and more) in order to best support and care for our patients. We have a network of providers that we know and trust. When necessary, we will connect you with them so that you have a team that is committed to your progress and healing.
